St Thomas Beaconsfield is delighted to be a long standing supporter of Toybox, a UK Christian charity with a mission to end the injustice of street children, one of the world’s most vulnerable groups.
Founded in 1992, Toybox has always identified itself as a Christian organisation, this means that the motivation for its work with street children is the direct result of the teachings and example of Jesus as recorded in the Bible.
“Our Christian belief inspires and motivates us to engage with everyone, both with those who have a faith and with those who have none, and irrespective of race, culture, gender, age or social position.”
“We believe in one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who is:
with a particular focus on children and those living in poverty
welcoming of all
through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we are given a perfect example of forgiveness
seeking what is right and fair
unafraid to push for change
A message from Toybox:
“Here at Toybox our vision is of a just world with no street children. Our mission is to end the injustice of children living and working on the streets. We have one core value – Courage. Courage to do the right thing, to speak the truth against injustice, to be unafraid to try new ideas.
We’d like to thank the congregation of St Thomas’ Beaconsfield for your generous support of our work. We know that through your help many children’s lives have been changed. We have exciting plans for reaching many more street children in new and creative ways. We hope you will join us in continuing to change the world for street children.
