Home Groups at St Thomas’ meet in individual church members’ homes and give anyone the opportunity to meet together in groups of about 7 to 10 people at times during the week to study and discuss the bible and Christian themes and to pray
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11: 28-30
At St. Thomas’s we believe that care for one another is part of the responsibility of each member of the church and we encourage everyone to be aware of others’ needs.
St Thomas’s has a Pastoral Care Team whose members are recognised for caring for others, listening and praying with those who need comfort and support. Team members are not counsellors but will spend time visiting or meeting with individuals as needed, and will uphold confidentiality in all matters.
Sometimes you may need more experienced help and support than our team members can give and they may recommend other organisations such as the Beaconsfield Advisory Centre, CRUSE and Child Bereavement UK.
Click here to visit our Useful Links & Resources page for details of some support organisations and services.
For pastoral care support, please contact Revd Narinder Tegally initially on 01494-670460 or click to email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Prayer Group is a team of people who have taken on the encouragement from St Paul from the bible (1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18) to “pray without ceasing”. The word used in the original texts for “without ceasing” was the same as that found in an Egyptian scroll of the time to describe a man with an incessant cough. Members of the Prayer Group take it seriously to “pray frequently”.
Members of The Prayer Group offer a prayer ministry, undertaking to pray with others individually or in small groups, both during church services and at other times.
If you would like prayer support or prayer ministry, please contact Revd Narinder Tegally initially on 01494-670460 or click to email: email@example.com
The Social Group at St Thomas’s organises events for Church members and for the wider local community. For more information, please contact Revd Narinder Tegally initially on 01494-670460 or click to email: firstname.lastname@example.org
